Croatia has not been the cheapest holiday destination for a long time. You will pay the most in the high season, meaning July and August, in well-known destinations such as Dubrovnik, Split, Makarska, Rovinj, Hvar or areas around national parks. Since 2023, Croatia has used the euro, so there is no need to convert Croatian kuna.

The best value is usually found in larger supermarkets such as Konzum, Plodine, Lidl, Kaufland or Tommy. Small shops near beaches and in resort centres are convenient, but more expensive.
Parking at our apartments is free. In larger towns, parking usually ranges from €2-6 per hour.
Is a Holiday in Croatia Worth It in 2026?
Yes, but not as a very cheap option as it was in previous years. Croatia in 2026 makes the most sense when you choose the location, accommodation and type of catering well. The best balance between price and comfort is offered by an apartment with a kitchen, private parking and good access to the beach.
